General nutrition information, not medical advice.

This site is for general nutrition information

Everything on CalorieBliss is for educational purposes. The articles, calculators, meal plans, and recipes are written for typical adults — but typical adults vary widely, and what works for most people may not work for you specifically.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, a medical diagnosis, or a treatment plan. We are not doctors, registered dietitians, nurse practitioners, or any other licensed health professional. The site is a publication, not a clinical service.

Decisions about your diet, weight, exercise, or health should involve a qualified healthcare provider — particularly if you have or suspect any of the following:

Calculator estimates

The calculators on this site use published formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict, US Navy method, etc.). These formulas are accurate for typical adults within a known range — usually ±10%. They were derived from population studies and may be less accurate for people who don't fit the populations studied (e.g., very high or very low body fat, athletes, older adults, certain ethnic groups, people with metabolic conditions).

Use calculator outputs as starting points, not as exact prescriptions.

Recipe nutrition

Recipe nutrition information is calculated from typical USDA values for the listed ingredients. Real-world numbers vary by brand, exact portion size, and how you measure. Expect your numbers to land within 5-10% of ours.

Meal plan suitability

The meal plans assume a typical adult without medical conditions or special dietary needs. They are not appropriate for everyone. If you have a medical condition, food allergies, or are pregnant or nursing, consult a healthcare provider before following a structured calorie plan.

Body weight is sensitive territory

If you have a history of disordered eating, body image concerns, or anxiety around food, a calorie-counting site may not be the right resource for you. There is good evidence that for some people, structured calorie tracking is helpful; for others, it's harmful. Know yourself. If tracking calories makes you feel worse, stop tracking calories.

If something here is wrong

We do our best to keep the site accurate, but mistakes happen. If you spot an error — a wrong formula, a miscalculation, a citation that doesn't support what we said — please email hello@caloriebliss.com and we'll fix it.

Bottom line: we provide general information. We're not your doctor. Use the site as a useful reference, not as a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice when you need it.
